1 NOTE OBITURARY: The Des Moines Register published the following on June 7, 1977 which read: "Leste
2 CONC r F. Suhler, who was on the founding staff of Look magazine in Des Moines and rose to becom
2 CONC e a vice-president and director of Cowles Communications, Inc., died Monday at Iowa Methodis
2 CONC t Medical Center of a stroke.  Mr. Suhler, 67, lived in Booneville.  Services will be at 1 p.
2 CONC m. Wednesday at Dunn's Funeral Home on Grand Avenue. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery
2 CONC .  Mr. Suhler joined Look as subscription manager when the magazine was founded in 1937.  H
2 CONC e later became manager of the Des Moines operations of Look, which kept offices here and in N
2 CONC ew York City.  Eventually, he moved to New York and in 1957 was elected a vice-president of t
2 CONC he publishing concern.  He lived in Cross River, New York, for several years.  He retired i
2 CONC n 1969 as a vice-president of the publications sales division.  Mr. Suhler was born in Sharon
2 CONC , Kan., and ws a graduate of the University of Kansas.  He was formerly president of the Dire
2 CONC ct Mail Advertising Association, the Des Moines Advertising Club, 100 Million club of New Yor
2 CONC k, and the Advertising Club of New York.  He was a member and elder of the Central Presbyteri
2 CONC an Church, the Capital Masonic-Lodge, the York Rite Masonry, the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Des Moine
2 CONC s Club, Embassy Club and Wakonda Club.  He had served on the National Board of Directors of t
2 CONC he Boy Scouts of America and was active in the Tall Corn Council.  He also was an avid suppor
2 CONC ter of athletics at the University of Kansas.  Survivors include his wife, Ruth Irene; a son
2 CONC , John Stuart of Darien, Conn.; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Sheldon of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Mr
2 CONC s. Gladys Kephart of Des Moines; two brothers, Emmerson of Wichita, and Raymond of Eddyville

1 NOTE OBITURARY: which read: "John Suhler, a pioneer resident of the Barber and Harper County are
2 CONC a for 63 years, passed away Friday, July 6, at his farm home two miles west of Sharon at th
2 CONC e age of 80 years, 8 months and 21 days.  He was the son of John and Margaret Suhler and wa
2 CONC s born October 15, 1864, near Harsdorf, Germany.   He came to America in 1881 at the age of 1
2 CONC 6 and became a naturalized citizen in 1887.  He first lived at Plainfield and Joliet, Illinoi
2 CONC s, moving the next year to what is now Attica.  As a youth, before the railroad was extende
2 CONC d from Harper, he herded cattle on the present site of Attica.  After spending a few years a
2 CONC t Plainfield, he returned to the eastern part of Barber County.  His parents homesteaded si
2 CONC x miles north of Sharon.  He was united in marriage with Jessie Alice Stuart of Zenda, Kan.
2 CONC , on May 21, 1899.  During his 63 years in these Kansas communities, John Suhler was well an
2 CONC d favorably known in farming and business circles as the first operator of horse-drawn and st
2 CONC eam threshing machines and for 40 years as one of Barber County's most ardent believers in go
2 CONC od schools and highways. He attended the first road meeting in the state of Kansas and was th
2 CONC e first grader operator paid by Barber County. With horse-drawn, and later tractor-drawn, roa
2 CONC d graders, he opened most of the early highways in the county.  At one time his count showe
2 CONC d he had helped build more than 100 cement culverts and small bridges in the eastern part o
2 CONC f the county.  For more than 20 years Mr. Suhler was elected to the office of Sharon townshi
2 CONC p trustee.  In 1920, 1925 and 1930 he took the United States census in Sharon and several oth
2 CONC er townships in the county and also served for more than 25 years as crop reporter for the Un
2 CONC ited States and Kansas State Departments of Agriculture.  For the term of 1942-1944, he was c
2 CONC hairman of the Barber County Central Republican Committee, and previously, was always activ
2 CONC e in county affairs.  Mr. Suhler was one of the last charter members of the Modern Woodmen Lo
2 CONC dge, Camp 5436, and served for many years as venerable command.  He was a member of the Congr
2 CONC egational Church and in 1900, with his wife, changed to the United Brethren Church, and in 19
2 CONC 12 transferred to the Christian Church at Sharon.  No obituary about John Suhler would be com
2 CONC plete if it did not mention that he was one of Barber County's best checker players, and wo
2 CONC n many championship games in and out of the county.  Due to his long public service and his k
2 CONC een memory for names, he was favorably known throughout the county, perhaps being able to cal
2 CONC l more residents of the county by namethan any other person.  His illness in January was a sh
2 CONC ock to his family and many friends.  He was alert and interested in local and county affair
2 CONC s up to his last few days.  He is survived by his wife, Jessie; one daughter, Ms. Gladys Ad
2 CONC a Kephart of Des Moines, Ia.; and four sons, Stanley Stuart, Waldo Emmerson and Raymond Victo
2 CONC r of Sharon, and Lester Fereld of Des Moines, Ia.; and three grandchldren, Barbara Kephart, S
2 CONC usan Lynne and John Stuart Suhler, all of Des Moines.  Two sons, Infant and Truman Forrest, p
2 CONC receded Mr. Suhler in death.  He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Wild, of Marshall, M

2 CONT OBITURARY: "Mrs. Jessie Alice Suhler, of Sharon, wife of the late John Suhler, passed away a
2 CONC t her home west of Sharon at noon Tuesday, August 30, 1949, at the age of 73 years, seven mon
2 CONC ths and four days, after an illness of two months.  Mrs. Suhler was the second daughter of te
2 CONC n children of Mr. and Mrs. John Stuart.  She was born January 26, 1876, at Lincoln, Ill., an
2 CONC d came to Zenda, Kan., with her parents in 1884.  Jessie Stuart was united in marriage with J
2 CONC ohn Suhler on May 21, 1899 at Fox School, south of Zenda, and to this union were born six son
2 CONC s and one daughter.  She was preceded in death by two infant sons and by her husband in July
2 CONC , 1945.  Mrs. Suhler was a kind and loving mother who raised her family in the Christian Chur
2 CONC ch of Sharon of which she was a long time member.  In her 65 years as a pioneer in Kansas sh
2 CONC e had accumulated a host of friends who mourn her passing.  She is survived by seven sister

2 CONT The Harper County Newspaper has on record a front page article entitled:  Death Claims Anothe
2 CONC r Harper County Pioneer.  It reads as follows: The death of J.A. Stuart, a Harper County pion
2 CONC eer, occurred on Monday morning at about 6:00 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. W
2 CONC . Shuh nine miles north of Attica.  Death terminated an illness of about ten days, although t
2 CONC he old gentleman had been in declining health for the past several months.
2 CONT 
2 CONT During the past year Mr. Stuart spent about seven months in the home of his daughter, Mrs. F
2 CONC . E. Brayton, at Little River, but was more recently being cared for in the home of Mr. and M
2 CONC rs. Shuh.  His departure more completely decimates the ranks of those hardy individuals whos
2 CONC e life of pioneer hardships did much to bring into subjection the sun baked and wind seared p
2 CONC lains, now embraced by this fertile and productive community.  He leaves to perpetuate his na
2 CONC me and memory a posterity greatly to his credit.

2 CONT Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Attica Assembly of God church
2 CONC , conducted by the pastor, Rev. V. G. Greisen.  Interment was made in the Attica cemetery, be
2 CONC side his departed wife. At the funeral the following obituary was read:  John Andrew Stuart w
2 CONC as born in Fayette County, West Virginia, December 26, 1847, and passed away at the home of h
2 CONC is daughter near Attica, in Harper county, Kansas, on December 15, 1930, at the age of 82 yea
2 CONC rs, 11 months, and 20 days.

2 CONT Mr. Stuart in childhood moved with his parents to Christian county, Illinois.

2 CONT On February 5, 1874, he was united in marriage to Martha Ellen Jordan, who preceded him in de
2 CONC ath.  To their union were born ten children, all of whom survive.  They are: James Henry an
2 CONC d Florence Stuart, of Los Angeles, California; John Logan, of Turlock, California; Mrs. Rut
2 CONC h Hodgin and Mrs. Nellie Atkisson, of Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Mabel Brayton, of Little River, K
2 CONC ansas; Mrs. Hortense King of Pratt, Kansas; Mrs. Jessie Shuler, of Sharon, Kansas; and Mrs. E
2 CONC unice Shuh, of Attica, Kansas.  He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, six great gran
2 CONC dchildren, and a host of friends.

2 CONT In early manhood he was converted to the religion of Jesus Christ, and united with the Unite
2 CONC d Brethren church.  Although at times he did not live close to the Lord, yet in the last on
2 CONC e and one-half years  he manifested his love and desire to be in the presence of the Lord, sa
2 CONC ying that he was ready to go.

1 NOTE OBITUARY: "Mrs. Rebecca Jane Elder died at her home in Maple Creek, Monday, April 15.  She wa
2 CONC s born in Virginia May 22, 1850, and moved to Illinois in 1852. There she was married May 26
2 CONC , 1868, to George W. Elder.  In 1872 the family moved to Otoe County, Nebraska and in 1879 t
2 CONC o Furnas County where they resided until death removed them.  Mr. Elder died two years ago
2 CONC .  Both of them were esteemed for their irreproachale characters, and to them is this no smal
2 CONC l credit for the development of Furnas County.  Thirteen children and many grandchildren an
2 CONC d other relatives survive them and their priceless inheritance is that of the precept and exa
2 CONC mple of a devoted and faithful father and mother.  The funeral services were conducted at th
2 CONC e home on Wednesday by Rev. J. G.  Russel and the interment was in the cemetery at the Bethe

2 CONC year-old son learn fractions over breakfast Monday, the congressman drew upon what he had lea
2 CONC rned from Ralph Stuart, longtime Wichita and Kansas City teacher.

2 CONT Stuart, 71, died Saturday in the Kansas City, Mo., retirement home where he has been living
2 CONC .  In 34 years of teaching math and world history at Wichita's Robinson Junior High School, a
2 CONC nd with a stint at Hillcrest Day School in Kansas City, Stuart left his mark on Glickman an
2 CONC d several other people who have shaped Kansas politics.
2 CONT 
2 CONT Garner Shriver, Glickman's predecessor as congressman in Kansas' 4th district, was an early s
2 CONC tudent.  There was Robert Bennett, remembered by Stuart as "Little Bobby," who became Kansas
2 CONC ' governor in 1974 and served until 1978, and there was Jack Ranson, later state chairman o
2 CONC f the Republican Party.

2 CONT But all students, not just those who later became politically prominent, loved Stuart.
2 CONT 
2 CONT "He was probably one of the most popular teachers who ever ran through here," said John Caske
2 CONC y, a counselor at Robinson. "I got here 25 years ago, and Ralph already was quite an institut
2 CONC ion then."
2 CONT 
2 CONT Drawn to teaching because he needed a job during the Depression, Stuart had two other passion
2 CONC s - raising flowers and collecting albums of Hawaiian music.
2 CONT 
2 CONT He became a senior judge for the American Iris Society and developed his own varieties of th
2 CONC e plant, said Pat Christena, a fellow member of the society.
2 CONT 
2 CONT Stuart never married. He is survived by his brother, J. Birch Stuart of Newton.  Services wil
2 CONC l be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cochran Mortuary.

2 CONC ollows: "He lived on 37th St. Court, near my mom and sister, and died suddenly.  He made hi

2 CONC e held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Mabelle Brayton at the Methodist Church in Little River, Re
2 CONC v. Alvin Smith officiating.  Mabelle Clara Stuart was born 4 November 1884 near Zenda, Kansa
2 CONC s in Kingman County.  She was the sixth child of a family of ten children born to John A. an
2 CONC d Martha Stuart.  They were a strong, hard working pioneer family.  There were two sons and e
2 CONC ight daughters.  All children lived for over 60 years before the family was broken by death
2 CONC .  Mabelle's mother died when Mabelle was about 17 years old, leaving four little girls who r
2 CONC anged in age from seven to fifteen years.  Mabele Stuart was united in marriage to Frank E. B
2 CONC rayton in February 1903.  To this union were born two children, a son, Elton and a daughter
2 CONC , Geraldine.  Elton now lives near Little River and Geraldine Pitts lives in Whittier, Califo
2 CONC rnia.  About a year after Mabelle's marriage her youngest sister, Florence, came to live wit
2 CONC h her and made it her home until she finished high school. She was a member of the United Bre
2 CONC thren Church, north of Attica, Kansas near her home.  After moving to Little River she change
2 CONC d her membership to the Little River Methodist Church.  They sold their farm near Attica in t
2 CONC he fall of 1913 and bought a farm south of Little River where they built their home, moving t
2 CONC here in the spring of 1919.  The made this their home until August 1938 when they retired fro
2 CONC m the farm and moved to Little River.  In July 1959 she fell and broke her hip and with faili

2 CONT In connection with Greenbrier's early buildings there frequently appears the name of John W
2 CONC . Dunn, the successful brickmason who not only built most of the houses but made the bricks a
2 CONC s well.  ... Dunn was one of the later owners of a pretentious brick residence on a 260-acr
2 CONC e farm a short distance south of Lewisburg, on the road leading to Fort Spring, then called t
2 CONC he Edgar Mill road.  One of the first occupants of this dwelling was the pioneer millwright
2 CONC , Samuel Winnall, Sr. and his wife Nancy Stuart, daughter of an Englishman, George Stuart, an
2 CONC d a part of this farm was her home at the time of her marriage in 1803.  She appears to hav
2 CONC e inherited it later, as a deed is recorded from Samuel Winnall and Nancy to Robert B. Moorma
2 CONC n, captain of the Civil War "Greenbrier Cavalry" for fifty-four acres in 1858.  From them i

2 CONC nt, Illinois Infantry.  He was discharged at Camp Butler.  Papers were filed in June 1890 fo

2 CONT OBITUARY: "George Wesley Elder was born October 18, 1841, in Tipton County, Indiana, died Mar
2 CONC ch 3, 1905, being 63 years, 4 months and 13 days.  Mr. Elder moved with his parents to Loga
2 CONC n County, Illinois when he was 4 years old.  He was married to Rebecca Jane Stewart in 1868
2 CONC .  In 1872 they moved to Otoe County, Nebraska, and in 1879 they moved to Furnas County, taki
2 CONC ng up their residence on the farm where he died.  Thirteen children wer born to this union, e
2 CONC ight girls and five boys all of whom are living, and all but two being present at the funeral
2 CONC .  He was a firm believer in the golden rule of 'Do unto others as you would that others shou
2 CONC ld do to you.'  He was a devout friend, a good neighbor, a faithful and conscientious husban
2 CONC d and father.  No more fitting tribute could be paid to him then was paid by a neighbor who s
2 CONC aid, 'He has no enemies', as he has lived in peace so peace be to his ashes. We extend to th

2 CONC 2, 1869, at Lincoln, Ill., and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Clarence Cook, a
2 CONC t Glendale, Ariz., on August 3, 1928, aged 54 years, 4 months, and 20 days. He was the eldes
2 CONC t of a family of thirteen children and the first to be called by death.  When but three year
2 CONC s of age he came with his parents from Illinois to Otoc County, Nebraska, and later in 1878
2 CONC , to the homestead in Maple Creek precinct in Furnas County.  Here he grew to manhood, attend
2 CONC ing the county schools and enduring the hardships attendant upon the life of the pioneer.  La
2 CONC ter he moved to Jennings, Kans., and worked at the blacksmith trade, and still later takin
2 CONC g a homestead near Demming, N.M., something like a year ago.  He became broken in health, hav

2 CONC y morning, June 5, 1936, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 20 days, after a brief illness

2 CONT Mr. Stuart's parents left Virginia with their family when he was a small boy, only four year
2 CONC s old, and went to Illinois, where they founded the town, Sweetwater (now a part of Springfie
2 CONC ld, state capitol).  It was here that young Jesse B. grew to young manhood, learning the stoc
2 CONC k feeding business from his father.  He made the acquaintance of Abraham Lincoln, then a comp
2 CONC aratively unknown young man who was studying law in the office of an uncle of Jesse B.'s in S
2 CONC pringfield, and become to know him quite well before Mr. Lincoln was elected President of th
2 CONC e United States.
2 CONT 
2 CONT In about 1856 Mr. Stuart bought 1400 acres of land here, a part of which is now occupied by t
2 CONC he city of Drexel.  The next year he met Miss Barbara E. Dean and they were married in the fa
2 CONC ll of 1867.  Soon after his marriage he decided to go to seek his fortune in the second gol
2 CONC d rush to California but he and Mrs. Stuart decided to go back to Illinois, after the sufferi
2 CONC ng and privations found there.  So they returned to Springfield where Mr. Stuart rebuilt a fi
2 CONC ne herd of cattle and a nice string of horses (which were his pride even in later years).
2 CONT 
2 CONT Mr. Stuart became widely known in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas as an industrious farme
2 CONC r and stock feeder with some of the finest horses in the country and he spent a great deal o
2 CONC f time riding about the country and his large stock farm on these fine saddle horses.  He wa
2 CONC s influential and his advice was often sought and his support solicited by politicians, bot
2 CONC h small and great.
2 CONT 
2 CONT When Arthur E. Stillwell and his eastern associates built the railroad then known as the Kans
2 CONC as City, N. & Ft. Smith, Mr.Stuart at once had visions of a thriving little city situated o
2 CONC n his land, so he got in touch with Mr. Stillwell and after talking the railway officials ou
2 CONC t of founding a town two miles south of where Drexel now stands he granted them certain conce
2 CONC ssions and was given the privilege of having a town platted.  On October 29, 1890, Mr. Stuar
2 CONC t filed the plat of Stuart City (now Drexel) with M. C. Smith, then recorder of deeds, at Har
2 CONC risonville.  At the request of the Postal Department, the name "Stuart City" was changed as t
2 CONC here was a town with a similar name already in the state.  The town was given the name "Drexe
2 CONC l" in honor of one of the financiers of the railroad by that name with the consent of Mr. Stu
2 CONC art.
2 CONT 
2 CONT For many years Mr. Stuart was very active in promoting the new town, trying to get the best p
2 CONC eople to come to his thriving little town to open stores and various other business enterpris
2 CONC es.  He financially helped several businesses to get started, helping finance the first newsp
2 CONC aper in the town, the Drexel Times and after its suspension was successful in inducing two yo
2 CONC ung men, Kendall and Ballard to found the Star, which has survived through the years.
2 CONT 
2 CONT Eleven children came to bless the Stuart union:  five boys and six girls, one of the boys dyi
2 CONC ng in infancy.  Mr. Stuart raised his large family in a very splendid manner, giving them eve
2 CONC ry opportunity of life and teaching them to be aristocrats.  In 1903 he was preceded in deat
2 CONC h by a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Murray and on March 17, 1930 by his youngest son, Charles H. S
2 CONC tuart.  His faithful wife also preceded him in death on July 23, 1928.  His surviving childre
2 CONC n are: Jesse B. Stuart, Jr., West Los Angeles, Calif.; Rupert Stuart, Superintendent of Kansa
2 CONC s City Terminal-Mail Service, 1843 Hedges Ave., Independence, Mo.; O. K. Stuart, a railway en
2 CONC gineer, 711 North Eighteenth street, Kansas City, Kas.; Mrs. Willetta Watson, Livermore, Cali
2 CONC f.; Mrs. Rahl Feeley, Mill Iron, Mont.; Mrs. John Reid, Stockton, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred Cluste
2 CONC r, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Harriet Benner, Fort Worth, Texas.

2 CONT In later years after business houses were established and Drexel a prosperous little city, Mr
2 CONC . Stuart sold the larger portion of his farm, retaining only a few acres on which he buil
2 CONC t a nice modern home in South Drexel where he and Mrs. Stuart lived in comparative retiremen
2 CONC t until her death.
2 CONT 
2 CONT Shortly after Mrs. Stuart's death he went to California to live but after spending a few year
2 CONC s in that state he decided to spend his declining years among his dear friends of Drexel an
2 CONC d came back to live in a small dwelling of his in South Drexel.  Here he spent his remainin
2 CONC g few years of life, enjoying meeting his old friends and talking of their accomplishments i
2 CONC n the early history of Drexel.
2 CONT 
2 CONT Mr. Stuart was a direct descendent of the Royal Scot Stuart family of England, many of whom
2 CONC , after being compelled to leave England during the revolution, went to France and were after
2 CONC wards permitted to settle a colony in America and given a grant of 75,000 acres of land in Vi
2 CONC rginia.  So it was no wonder that he and his family were considered aristocrats in the earl
2 CONC y days of Drexel and Western Missouri.  Jesse B. Stuart was also a nephew of the late Genera
2 CONC l Ewell Brown Stuart who commanded the Confederate forces for a time after "Stonewall" Jackso
2 CONC n's death.

2 CONT As a whole, Mr. Stuart's life was quite colorful and a man has passed on to another world wh
2 CONC o probably has done more to promote business and the welfare of Drexel than any other person
2 CONC , living or dead.  Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Drexel, Monday after
2 CONC noon at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. H. A. Pfost with J. B. Hays, funeral director, in cha
2 CONC rge.  Burial was made in Sharon cemetery.

2 CONT OBITUARY: In the newspaper (titled unknown) we read the following: "Jeanette Elder Simpson wa
2 CONC s born January 30, 1872, at Lincoln, Illinois and passed away April 17, 1930 at the state hos
2 CONC pital at Topeka, Kansas. at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 18 days.  She was the daughte
2 CONC r of George and Rebecca Elder.  She came with her parents when she was three months old to St
2 CONC amford, Nebraska and grew to young womanhood in the Precept neighborhood.  When she was abou
2 CONC t 24 years of age, she returned to Illinois, and for a number of years she traveled from plac
2 CONC e to place, being engaged in millinery work as a trimmer.  She was united in marriage to L. C
2 CONC . Simpson, at Marshall, Texas, on June 28, 1911, and they made their home at St. Louis, MO.
2 CONC , until his health failed him, when she went with him to several sanitoriums in the hope tha
2 CONC t he might find relief from the tubercular trouble that was preying on his body, but all effo
2 CONC rts failed and he passed away at Ashville, N.C.  About two years after her husband's death, s
2 CONC he was taken with typhoid fever and remained ill for some time and ever since that she has be
2 CONC en an invalid.  She made her home for two years with her brother, Charles Elder, and wife, o
2 CONC f Marysville, Kansas.  About two and one-half years ago she was taken to the state hospital a
2 CONC t Topeka, Kansas.  She united with the Presbyterian church at Stamford when she was a young g
2 CONC irl, and has attended church when she could throughout her lifetime.  She leaves to hold he
2 CONC r in cherished memory, seven sisters, Mrs. Anna Goosic and Mrs. Mollie Simmons, of Hastings
2 CONC , Nebraska; Mrs. Rhoda Cook, of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Rosetta Cunningham, Mrs. Maude Foss, M
2 CONC rs. May Hopper and Mrs. Lizzie Cox, all of Beaver City; and four brothers, Frank of Pullman
2 CONC , Washington; Guy of Grainville, Idaho; David, of Genoa, Colorado; and Charles, of Maryville
2 CONC , Kansas; besides many other relatives and friends.  She was of a kind and loving disposition
2 CONC , good to everyone and very appreciative of what others did for her.  Even in the last days o
2 CONC f her life when she was so stricken, she never forgot to thank those who were caring for her
2 CONC , for every kindness of theirs to her.  Funeral services were held at the Bethel Church, nea
2 CONC r the old home, Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. E. Dysart, of the Beave
2 CONC r City Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. A. H. Harnish, of Hollinger.  Burial was in Deav

2 CONC rs and 11 months.  She was one of 13 children born to Mr. and Mrs. George Elder.  She was mar
2 CONC ried to Mead Hopper also of Furnas County, and to this union eight children were born.  Her h
2 CONC usband, three daughters and two sons preceded her in death.  She died at Covina, California
2 CONC , where she had resided for the past nine years.  She is survived by three brothers: Dave Eld
2 CONC er of Denver, Colorado, Guy Elder of Phoenix, Arizona; and Frank Elder of Kenewick, Washingto
2 CONC n.  She also has two living sistes: Mrs. Clarence Cook of Glendale, Arizona and Mrs. Herber
2 CONC t Cox of Fort Collins, Colorado.  Also surviving are three of her children: one son, Mr. B. W
2 CONC . Hopper of Hastings, Nebraska and two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Harding of Pueblo, Colorado an

2 CONC reat children and numerous other relatives and friends.  Mrs. Hopper lived in and around Beav
2 CONC er City for many years. She was a member of the First Christian church of Beaver City.  Funer

2 CONC is Hotel.  Mrs. Krigbaum was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowling Green in 196
2 CONC 8.  She attended the local churches when her health permitted.  Survivors include a niece, Mr
2 CONC s. Eldon (Betty) Steers of Bowling Green, and a nephew, Ray Henderson of Louisiana.  She wa
2 CONC s preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve Morris, Helen Henderson and Grace Thompson

2 CONC ection 1, P.O. Rising Sun.  Was born in Roanoke County, North Carolina, August 13, 1815, an
2 CONC d when fourteen years of age moved to Clark County, Indiana.  From there she went to Adams Co
2 CONC unty, Illinois, and to this county in March 1847.  She married, June 14, 1844, to David Stuar
2 CONC t, who was born in Greenbrier County, Virginia 15 September 1811, and died November 28, 186
2 CONC 5 on the farm she now occupies.  This farm he entered from the government, and it consists o
2 CONC f eighty acres of land.  She has had eleven children, nine of whom are living.  Two daughters
